1st Year Trip Completed

May 10th Post:  We spent a few days in Ed and Roxy's driveway near Wasilla and have now moved to our home at Fish Camp (Sterling, Alaska).

We met such wonderful people during our travels over the winter and we're thankful for those experiences while at the same time we're glad to be back home.  For now we'll focus on enjoying being home but we're also looking forward  to going South again next fall and hopefully reconnecting with folks we met along the way.  Alas, I kind of miss being harassed and belittled by Brad Burgess, a man I count among my friends in spite of the maltreatment I get from him.  Also, it was so nice to finally meet Bruce & Celia who had become "internet friends" the winter before before we left Alaska.  Bruce was so helpful via email back then as I struggled with problems on the old 5th wheeler (they had the same model).  Betty and I both really enjoyed the times we got to spend with them in Arizona.  Rolly & Sherry, Terry & Sam, Pat & Pat, Lonnie and all the rest....see ya next winter at DM.

At the very beginning of this trip last September (2010) I posted a picture of what we looked like as we started out so here's that picture and then a picture of what we looked like returning 9 months or so later:

May 15th Post:  We've decided to build a new log cabin on our property (Fish Camp) here in Sterling so over the next weeks I'll post updates and pictures of that process.  DRW
